New cycling course!
After three years of the same route, there will be more extensive changes to the cycle route in 2025 and you will be exploring new areas of the city in September.
The reason for this is a major construction site, which means that we will no longer be able to use the section of the route via the feeder road on the right bank of the Rhine.
At the same time, however, we will be able to extend the bike course by adapting it so that you can take part in the
– middle distance only 2 laps (instead of the previous 4 laps)
– Olympic distance only 1 lap (instead of 2 previously)
– sprint distance only one shortened lap
have to ride.
This extension should also make the bike course less crowded.
So you can look forward to some variety and new sections on the ‘right’ side of the Rhine in the north of Cologne.
